WHAT IS BREAST RECONSTRUCTION?

Breast reconstruction is a procedure in which all or part of the breast(s) are rebuilt following their removal due to cancer or another serious condition. This is a highly customized procedure; during your consultation, Dr. English will examine your breasts and determine the surgical plan that is best for you. He may also order X-rays or a mammogram to guide him in developing this surgical plan.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR BREAST RECONSTRUCTION?

You may be a good candidate for breast reconstruction if you:

• Have had all or part of one breast removed and feel lopsided as a result.

• Are self-conscious about your flat chest and would like to regain your old figure.

• Have fully completed cancer treatment, and have been told by your primary care physician that your disease is in remission.
