FAT TRANSFER

WHAT IS FAT TRANSFER AND HAND REJUVENATION?

Our hands are rarely covered, and are therefore one of the most visible areas on our body. They are also one of the first to produce noticeable signs of aging. When young, the back of the hand is plump and full, but can decrease in volume as time goes on, resulting in a flat, bony appearance. To successfully rejuvenate the hand, Dr. English places integrated fat graft layers over the back of it, causing the skin to appear (and feel) thicker. Fat grafts in the back of the hand also restore youthful contours and disguises tendons and veins without hiding them completely.

During a fat transfer procedure, fat is harvested from an area where there is excess. It is then placed in another part such as the back of the hands. This procedure is also known by other names such as fat grafting, autologous fat transplantation, fat injecting, or microlipoinjections.

AM I A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR FAT GRAFTING OF THE HANDS?

If you find yourself hiding your hands in public and wishing you had on gloves, then we encourage you to meet with Dr. English to have him determine if you are a good candidate for fat grafting of the hands. Dr. English examines your hands and then determines what will be needed to renew your hands and make them appear more youthful and attractive.
